The Winterhalter MonoMatik 3 is a fully automatic, flow-controlled water softener that uses the principle of ion exchange to transform hard water into softened water. Water softening is essential for good dishwashing results in machine washing.
The water softener It essentially consists of a plastic salt container, a fiberglass filter cartridge, and a control unit. The device is covered with a plastic lid and equipped with ¾" screw fittings.
The MonoMatik 3 operates on the basis of ion exchange. The filter cartridge contains an ion exchange resin that binds the hardness-causing calcium and magnesium ions and releases the non-hardness-causing sodium ions into the flowing water, thus preventing limescale or boiler scale buildup.
When the resin in the ion exchange cartridge is exhausted, the control head automatically initiates the regeneration of the depleted resin. The device requires no electrical connection. It is controlled solely by measuring the amount of treated water.
